There are various sub-clubs and groups meeting weekly or monthly. Each group revolves around a particular activity, such as Playgroups, Couples/Moms Night out, Cooking, Crafting, etc. We're sure you can find a group that does something you love to do, so it's up to you to join with others who love to do it too. Below is a list of our ongoing groups. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for the group contact person, or check the current newsletter for more information.
Babysitting Co-Op - Every stay at home mom sometimes needs a break for their child(ren), weather its for a relaxing pedicure or massage, a doctor’s appointment, or to run errands and buy some groceries. The Babysitting Co-Op offers you a trade instead of a paid service — you get free babysitting in return for providing free babysitting for others. And this can be easier than you think, since watching other peoples' kids is less of a stretch when you're already home watching your own. As your children get older, shared babysitting can actually feel more like trading playdates. The children are occupied playing together, which gives you more time to yourself. More important, joining a co-op assures you that your child will be looked after by the best kind of sitter — another parent you know and trust.
Book Club - Our Book Club meets once every other month. Everyone brings an appetizer and/or drink to share while we talk about books and just enjoy each other's company.
Bunco Club - Our Bunco Club meets monthly. Everyone brings an appetizer and/or drink to share while play with twelve or more players, divided into groups of four, trying to score points while taking turns rolling three dice. The pot will be split four ways: most wins, most losses, most buncos, most baby buncos.
Children's Outings -Throughout the month, you're invited to join us at a new location. Our members add activities to the monthly calendar by email or at the monthly general meeting that they'd like to host. Maybe you'd like to go to the children's museum or train park or take a hike up the Fireside mountain. Or maybe your schedules requires an afternoon activity as opposed to a morning activity. Well, you'd just pick a date and time, and put the event on the calendar. You'd be the contact for that event, so other moms that will be attending will know to look for you when they arrive. Some activities are free and some have a cost. But we always have a good time visiting with each other and letting the kids have a great time.
Cooking Clubs -We currently have an Family Meal Club & a Kids Cooking Club that each meet once a month. Our members come to get new ideas, share recipes, let the kids have fun & enjoy fun conversations. It's always fun to try new recipes and share your joy for cooking with fellow members.
Crafting Clubs -We currently have an Adult Crafting Club & a Kids Crafting Club that each meet once a month. Our members come to share ideas, get inspiration & let the kids be creative. It's something that is enjoyed by the crafting pros in our group and the ones who just try to keep up!
Fitness Clubs -Our Gym/ Fitness Clubs are grouped by members who attend the same gym or live in the same community. It's a fun way to get a work-out in with friends and help each other stay motivated.
Fundraising & Service Projects -Our MOMS Club participates in 2 Service Projects each year that are voted for by the members. We also host an Annual Fundraising Gala each year to raise money for a local charity. There are so many ways to be involved and it's a great opportunity to give back and set a good example for our children.
Meal Support -Our members generously volunteer to take meals to our members in a in times of need. This is a fabulous way to get involved and meet other members. There is a definite bond between our cooks and those being supported. A Food Tidings link will be emailed out to the group when meals are needed.
Mom's/Couple's Night Out -Whether it's movies, potluck & wine or going out, who could resist a night out with just adults! Bi-monthly, we have an organized event just for moms and nights for couples. It's a great stress reliever and a guaranteed great time with fellow club members.
Playgroups -Our playgroups meet once a week; some are grouped together by age and some are all ages. If we can’t find one that suits your needs, we can help find other moms like you and start a new one. There are playgroups forming all the time!
